Position Summary
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Purchasing Analyst will be responsible for optimizing inventory levels across 35+ service trucks and 2+ warehouses to maximize service levels and profit to the company. This approximately $3M inventory portfolio is essential to our core business and will be growing with our expansion into other product lines and the addition of more service technicians and regional warehouses.
The ideal candidate will be able to think both tactically and strategically to solve problems and will be able to use data, processes and systems, as well as the people within the organization with experience, to find the best possible solutions. This role serves as both an analytical role as well as a planning/buying role which allows this person to truly be responsible for setting inventory levels, ordering to those levels and working through lead time changes, backorder situations and discrepancies. The Purchasing Analyst will interface with our vendors, service department, field technicians, and possibly customers for parts orders, so great communication is essential in this critical role.
