Full-time positions are available in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, western Pennsylvania and eastern Indiana.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Disassemble and re-assemble equipment. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on all types of equipment.
• Adjusting, aligning, assembling, calibrating, lubrication and testing of commercial foodservice equipment; electrical/mechanical and electronics troubleshooting.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment to perform service of the unit.
• Develop solutions that are in the best interests of the customer.
• Order parts and complete required paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with customers, field supervisor, dispatchers and employees.
• Responsible for vehicle inventory, maintenance and appearance.
• Complete all work tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company safety standards.
• Adhere to Kappus Company core values in daily work interactions and relationships.

Skills Required

• Ability to diagnose commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment performance through observation, testing and setup.
• Electrical and mechanical experience a plus.
• Ability to learn new technology and maintain equipment following procedures and specifications.
• Ability to give and take written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to accurately complete documents to verify work performed.
• Ability to operate a commercial vehicle and trailer.
• Ability to work flexible hours, as required, as well as on-call nights and weekends when assigned.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Must meet one of the following requirements:
  • Accredited High School diploma/GED (Technical School preferred)
• Must possess valid state-issued driver’s license. Ability to safely operate a company motor vehicle as evidenced by past driving performance record. Must adhere to all company safety requirements. Must be able to drive a minimum of six hours per day.
• Ability to travel and attend training schools (as applicable).
• Ability to use a handheld device for submitting and receiving work orders.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision; willing and able to consistently work the schedule required by the job demands.
• Must be organized, accountable and self-motivated.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 -75 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Ability to lift, carry, pull and push components and/or equipment to test, setup or maintain equipment.
• Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery and wet conditions.
