Job Summary

The Director of Sales will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by overseeing and managing sales activities. This position involves developing and executing strategic plans, managing a team of sales professionals, and cultivating relationships with key accounts and partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, a deep understanding of the foodservice industry, and a proven track record of exceeding targets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share goals.
• Identify and pursue market opportunities in alignment with business objectives.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of sales representatives to drive high performance.
• Set clear goals, monitor progress, and provide coaching to ensure professional growth and achievement of KPIs.

Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, national accounts, and OEM business partners.
• Address customer needs effectively to foster loyalty and satisfaction.

Market Analysis

• Monitor trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
• Leverage insights from ERP and CRM systems to inform strategic decisions.

Sales Operations

• Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to support sales initiatives and new product launches.

Business Development

• Expand the company’s presence in existing and new markets.
• Lead the development of business plans for new product launches and negotiate high-value contracts.

Communication

• Clearly convey sales strategies, goals and updates to the team and executive leadership.
• Provide regular updates on sales performance and key achievements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive sales experience in the foodservice industry, with leadership roles.
• Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and driving business growth.
• Strong understanding of the foodservice industry, including trends and distribution channels.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
• Ability to travel as needed.
